Dr. Ozgur Ozkan

Dr. Ozgur "Oz" Ozkan grew up in a small town in Nebraska and is the son of a surgeon and chemistry teacher.  He went on graduate Georgetown University magna cum laude with BS in Chemistry and concentration in Biochemistry, where is also wrote a children’s book of science demonstrations entitled “Why is the Sky Blue”.  Dr. Ozkan continued his medical education at Georgetown University Medical School.  He went on to complete his residency at the University of South Carolina/Palmetto Health, where his did an extensive amount of training in Medical Retina.  He went did a Glaucoma fellowship with Dr. Mark Latina of the Massachusetts Eye & Ear Infirmary (Harvard School of Medicine) and with Dr. Peter Netland at the University of Virginia, where he also became an instructor.  Throughout his medical training, Dr. Ozkan has been involved with national and international ophthalmic volunteer projects and multiple clinical trials.

In his spare time, Dr. Ozkan enjoys spending time with his wife, Lisa, and toddler, Paul.  He also enjoys playing tennis, pickle ball, and golf.
